Athlete & Parent Code of Conduct
Effective Date: June 22, 2026
Required for all athletes and parents/guardians. By using the Chaperone Performance platform, you agree to abide by the conduct standards set forth in this agreement. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring minor athletes understand and comply with these standards.
This Athlete & Parent Code of Conduct Agreement ("Agreement") establishes the behavioral standards, rights, and responsibilities expected of athletes and parents or legal guardians ("Parent/Guardian") who use the Chaperone Performanceplatform. By accessing the platform, booking sessions, or participating in any coaching activity, you agree to comply with all terms herein.
1. Parent/Guardian Requirements
For any athlete between the ages of 13 and 17, a parent or legal guardian must:
- Create or co-manage the athlete's account and remain actively involved in all platform activity.
- Complete the Athlete & Parents Waiver on the minor's behalf prior to any coaching session.
- Review and approve all session bookings made on behalf of the minor athlete.
- Monitor all platform communications involving the minor athlete.
- Ensure the minor athlete understands and complies with this Code of Conduct.
Children under the age of 13 are strictly prohibited from using the platform.
2. Code of Conduct — General Standards
All athletes and parents/guardians agree to conduct themselves with respect, professionalism, and integrity at all times on and through the Chaperone Performanceplatform. Specifically, you agree to:
- Treat all coaches, athletes, and platform staff with dignity and respect.
- Engage honestly and transparently in all interactions.
- Not use threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or sexually explicit language.
- Refrain from submitting false, misleading, or defamatory reviews or reports.
- Not harass or intimidate any user of the platform.
- Respect the professional boundaries of coaches at all times.
3. Respect for Coaches
Athletes and parents/guardians agree to:
- Approach coaching relationships as professional engagements, not personal friendships or social relationships.
- Attend or arrive for sessions on time or provide reasonable advance notice of cancellation.
- Follow the coach's training instructions and feedback with an open, receptive attitude.
- Not interfere with a coach's professional methodology or attempt to dictate training approaches in a manner that undermines the coach's expertise.
- Raise concerns or feedback about a coach through the platform's review and reporting tools, not through confrontational or abusive communications.
4. Communication Rules
All communication between athletes, parents/guardians, and coaches must occur exclusively through the Chaperone Performanceplatform's messaging and communication tools. You agree not to:
- Share personal contact information (phone numbers, personal email, social media handles) with coaches.
- Solicit or accept off-platform communication from coaches.
- Arrange or conduct sessions, training, or interactions outside of the platform.
- Attempt to transition a coaching relationship entirely off-platform.
This policy protects the safety of all users, especially minor athletes, and ensures all interactions are subject to the platform's safety standards.
5. Non-Circumvention Policy
You agree that for a period of 48 months from the date of your first interaction with a coach through the Chaperone Performance platform, you will not directly hire, engage, retain, or compensate that coach — or any coach you were introduced to through the platform — for coaching or training services outside of the Chaperone Performance platform, without the express written consent of Chaperone Performance.
This non-circumvention provision is designed to protect the viability of the platform and the livelihoods of coaches who depend on the marketplace. Violation of this provision may result in account termination and may expose you to civil liability for damages, including the platform fees that would have been earned had the relationship continued through Chaperone Performance.
6. Payment & Subscription Terms
You acknowledge and agree that:
- All payments for coaching sessions or subscriptions must be made through the Chaperone Performanceplatform's payment system.
- Direct payment to coaches outside the platform is a violation of this Agreement and of the Terms of Service.
- Subscription plans auto-renew unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
- Fees are non-refundable except as specified in the cancellation policy.
7. Liability Waiver
You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Chaperone Performance platform and participation in coaching sessions are subject to the Athlete & Parents Waiver, which includes a release of liability and assumption of risk. By agreeing to this Code of Conduct, you reaffirm all terms and conditions of that Waiver.
8. Minor Athlete Safety
The safety of minor athletes is a primary concern of Chaperone Performance. Parents and guardians agree to:
- Never leave a minor athlete unsupervised in a one-on-one setting with a coach unless the session is conducted in a verified public location or via the platform's video tools.
- Immediately report any behavior by a coach that appears inappropriate, sexual in nature, threatening, or in violation of the platform's standards.
- Ensure the minor athlete understands that they may always stop a session or leave a situation that makes them feel unsafe.
- Not share images or information about the minor athlete on the platform that could compromise their safety or privacy.
9. Social Media & Public Conduct
You agree not to post content on social media, public forums, or online review platforms that:
- Makes false or defamatory statements about any coach, athlete, or Chaperone Performance.
- Discloses confidential information about coaching sessions or other users.
- Disparages a coach in a manner intended to damage their professional reputation without factual basis.
- Violates the privacy of any minor athlete, including sharing images or information without appropriate consent.
You agree to resolve disputes or concerns through the platform's reporting system before making any public statements about your experience.
10. Content & Media Consent
By using the platform, you grant Chaperone Performance the non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use testimonials, reviews, photos, and other content you submit for platform improvement and promotional purposes, subject to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
You retain the right to opt out of promotional use of your content or likeness by notifying Chaperone Performance in writing at info@chaperoneperformance.com.
11. Reporting Concerns
If you witness or experience any behavior that you believe violates this Code of Conduct, platform policies, or applicable law, you are encouraged to report it promptly. Reports can be submitted:
- By email to info@chaperoneperformance.com
- Through the platform's in-app reporting tools.
Chaperone Performance will investigate all reports in good faith and take appropriate action. Reports are kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. Retaliation against any person who submits a good-faith report is prohibited.
12. Platform Rights
Chaperone Performance reserves the right to:
- Suspend or permanently remove any athlete or parent/guardian who violates this Code of Conduct, with or without refund.
- Investigate any report of misconduct and take appropriate corrective action.
- Modify this Code of Conduct at any time, with notice provided via the platform or email.
- Cooperate with law enforcement in any investigation involving the safety of users, particularly minor athletes.
13. Parent-Coach Relationship Expectations
Chaperone Performance encourages positive and professional relationships between parents/guardians and coaches. Parents agree to:
- Recognize the professional expertise of the coach and refrain from undermining their authority during sessions.
- Discuss concerns or feedback with the coach through the platform's communication tools in a constructive manner.
- Not attend in-person sessions in a manner that disrupts the coaching environment unless invited by the coach.
